Here on RKP, we believe that every action that can be observed by other characters can affect another character's reputation. How you write your character will have in character consequences, and the reputation system is part of that. To see a character's full reputation, you can go to their profile and click the "reputation" tab. This, for obvious reasons, is different for each group. In a society that hates mutants, you won't be in with the general populace and mutants at the same time, unless you're very good at maintaining alternate personas.

DISCLAIMER: Not all people in a certain group will have the same view as the majority. Just because you maintain a good reputation with most cops doesn't mean that every single cop will like you, or even care. Additionally, if your character meets someone who has a bad reputation with the church, they won't just inherently know this, unless they heard it through other characters, particularly if your character isn't part of the church.

Reputation is not forever, just like in real life, people change, and so do their reputations. This can be affected by your character's actions as well as the kind of people they spend time around. The Gossip Thread can also affect reputation, depending upon the severity and if evidence is submitted. Reputation can be anywhere from 0 to 5, and keep in mind: just because you're part of a group doesn't necessarily mean that you have a good reputation with them.

1 - Awful. Your character is despised by this group due to severe actions against them. You won't be getting anything from them, and you won't be allowed in any areas under their control (except, perhaps, tied up).
2 - Poor. Your character might not be murdered by this group, but they're not liked by any means. You won't be able to obtain favors from this group, and you won't be trusted by them.
3 - Mediocre. You're fairly average in terms of the group liking you. They don't precisely trust you with things, but they don't distrust you either, and they're likely to treat you 1 for 1.
4 - Good. You're trusted with the basic things, and you might get a favor from them every so often. They're likely to help you if they don't have to go out of their way to do so.
5. Stellar. You are tight with this group in a big way. They're likely to help you out if they can, and they know they can trust you.

Humans: AKA, the general public. This is what the majority of all people will think of you.

1 - High grade criminals fit here, as do class B mutants, mutants that abuse their powers, mutants that are known to have dangerous powers, mutants that are known to have powers that could conceivably be dangerous. All known mutants, basically. Also anyone who is known to be in a chaotic gang. At this level, politicians are likely to be demoted or to lose their jobs. Police officers are likely to be demoted, fired, or injured on the job. Most jobs in the middle district cannot be held at this level.

2 - Known agitators, and suspected mutants. Low-level criminals, and anyone with chaotic gang affiliations. At this level, politicians are unlikely to climb any higher on the ladder.

3 - Suspected agitators are generally here, and people who generally keep their head down and aren't really necessarily good people, but aren't obviously bad people either. Average police officers.

4 - Anyone who generally makes an effort to be nice. Members of the more structured gangs - so long as they're kind people - generally fall here. Police who are generally on the side of the populace and do an upstanding job of making a difference.

5 - Upstanding people. These are the ones who are noted for being a great member of society, the person who helped put out the house fire down the street, ect.

Mutants

1 - Most politicians, police officers, ect. Anyone who is violently anti-mutant or encourages mutant experimentation. Violent mutants are likely to target your character, particularly if they hold any significant positions.

2 - The more relaxed politicians and police officers. The average human, really. Most don't like mutants, and mutants therefore don't like them. Mutants who use their powers harmfully - it helps nothing.

3 - Known mutants. The church.

4 - Known agitators. Other mutants who are able to help.

5 - Agitators, known or otherwise, who provide help to mutants who have been discovered. Reputation with humans will go down. Politicians are likely to be demoted, fired, or targeted by violent parties.

Agitators

1 - Most politicians, those who condone mutant experimentation.

2 - Police officers, anyone who is against their movement. Chaotic gangs.

3 - Most people. Mutants.

4 - Respectable gang members.. Most of the church. Police officers and politicians are likely to be demoted.

5 - Known agitators. Police officers and politicians are likely to be fired.

Pro-Mutant Agitators

1 - Most politicians, anyone who is violently anti-mutant, particularly those who condone mutant experimentation.

2 - Police officers, anyone who is against their movement. Chaotic gangs.

3 - Most people. Mutants who lash out (though it might be understandable).

4 - Most mutants. Other known agitators. Most of the church. Police officers and politicians are likely to be demoted or targeted by violent parties.

5 - Those who are able to help mutants. Pro-mutant politicians (rare though they are). Kind and gentle mutants. Police officers and politicians are likely to be fired.

Police

1 - Most criminals, chaotic gang members, known mutants, known agitators. Characters may be terrorized by law enforcement, and charged with crimes they didn't commit.

2 - Anyone suspected of any of the things listed in 1. Extremely low class criminals. Peaceful agitators. Respectable gang members. Corrupt police officers. Characters will not receive any help from law enforcement.

3 - The average citizen.

4 - Upstanding citizens, those who will come to police with information willingly.

5 - Most other officers. Minor offenses may be ignored. Repeat abuse of this will result in lowered reputation.

Church

1 - Murderers, rapists, chaotic gang members, satanists. Mutants who use their abilities to harm others. Will not receive treatment at Hope Medical Clinic. Orphans will be kicked out of the orphanage. Public offenses will result in removal from church membership, regardless of job within the church.

2 - Class B mutants. Police officers, politicians. Anyone who is corrupt. Unlikely to receive treatment from Hope Medical Clinic. Orphans will be chastised and made to do work.

3 - Most other mutants - the church stands with don't ask and don't tell as far as they're concerned. Most people in general.

4 - Peaceful agitators. Upstanding police officers. Respectable gangs.

5 - The devout. Will always obtain help from the Faith.

Chaotic Gangs

1 - Police officers. People in opposing gangs. Characters are likely to be specifically targeted in violent attacks.

2 - People associated with other gangs. The Church. Characters are likely to be involved in violent attacks - though they will generally not be the intended target.

3 - Mutants (depending on the gang, you can refer to a gang's individual page to see their views on mutants). Those associated with allied gangs.

4 - People who are associated with their gang. Allied gangs.

5 - Their own gang, usually. Characters are exempt from purposeful harm by this group.

Respectable Gangs

1 - Chaotic gangs, murderers, ect. Characters will not receive protection from this group for any reason.

2 - Police. People with connections to chaotic gangs. The group must have a very good reason to want to help your character.

3 - Mutants (see individual gang's views on them on their gang's page).

4 - Agitators, usually. Other respectable gangs. The Church. Violent attacks against these characters may result in retaliation.

5 - Their own gang, people with connections to their own gang. Allied gangs. Characters are under this group's protection. Offenses against your character may result in lowering of the other character's reputation. Violent attacks against these characters will result in retaliation.
